Editor’s Review

The buffet at this newly opened restaurant at The Residency is a salute to the new Indian middle-class. The Spice Jar menu includes a really wide array of dishes that is quite staggering. You will find a Leg of Mutton Salad and a Turkey Masala along side pulaos from Hyderabad, pasta from Italy, Veg “Hopping Noodles”, all the shades of Chettinadu and Fish Curry from Allepey. The South Indian items here are excellent, a very good Bisebelebath being followed by the Allepey Fish Curry and Rice which are both spot on. Custards, ice creams, mousses, tartlets and Indian sweets, Payasam, and Chocolate Sauce make up the desserts.
