It's chilled out, there are no hassles getting in, the music is pumped up as the night wears on. There's adrenalin-fuelled bustle in Taj President's bar, along with sophistication for a price. Wink makes it to our "must-visit list" for several reasons… sushi and martinis, the recently introduced smoking cocktails, the largest and most exclusive collection of spirits, and great music too. Flirtatious black jalis create private spaces between the high-octane bar area and the more sedate comfy seating one. The bartender and DJ here changes every 3-4 months. Flaming cocktails, smoking cocktails, juggling flare cocktails... the excitement is kept alive. They have introduced more wines by the glass and the Bombay Electric Project (consortium of DJs) have taken charge of the music. We approve of the Detox Cocktail (cheeky name for a concoction of cumin seeds, pineapple juice, mint and vodka), the Winkitins, Zen Martinii. A huge choice of rare malts, wines, vodkas, regular scotches, signature specials, specially-created Winktinis…. You name it, they got it, including Remy Martin Louis XIII Cognac and fancy cigars. P.S. Don't miss the flute and drum performance by Jonqi every Thursday. Wednesday is Ladies' Nite. Fridays and Saturdays is retro and lounge music. The bar opens in the evening and it's the older crowd nursing their single malts till 9.30pm. Post-10pm, the younger lot float in to party.
