This Bandra restaurant is easily one of the finest new ones. It serves adventure to those who want it and comfort food to those who don’t. A perfect combination. Brave the trafficked street it is on and the slow and indifferent service here too. A full-on gourmet dinner menu and a truncated lunch menu. Knockout great dishes? Start with Asparagus Foam and Shiitake Tea. Chefs Viraf Patel and Gresham Fernandes tease big effects and full flavours out of simple dishes like the unerringly cooked, plump yet crisp Deli-marinated Vegetables; Roast Duck Salad and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Burger with Pineapple Chutney (a masterpiece) is a balance of sweet and tangy and a must try. However, the Grilled Rawas doesn’t quite marry well with the Okra and the Ravioli is just about okay. All served in a casual, no fuss, wooden environment. Take the service with a pinch of salt and enjoy Salt Water Café.
